The day after the hard rain

I have cleaned up my voodoo's dolls. They are hanging upside down for drying.

I was extremely boring yesterday.... I couldn't go out or do anything because of the heavy rain and strong wind. Actually I could play the wii, but this dull mood made me didn't want to play it too.... Therefore, I tidied up my drawers in my study room. I throw many VISA receipts and categorized all the letters from the banks or the insurance companies.

Today, I visited my niece again. I tried my best to visit her as much as I could.
.......... SIGH.................
She seemed not to recognise me. She stared at me..... I still needed to play with her for at least 15 minutes to recall her memory.
I HOPE...
SOMEDAY...
She will smile at me if she sees me... (don't need to warm up)

求婚

經過兩日的中五收生，我昨天已決定要放假一天．
一早醒來，已是十時半，然後再躺臥至十一點... 才乖乖地走下床，起床後的第一件要幹的事當然是開電腦，用新keyboard，到了十二點便更衣到附近買飯盒，那是一間相熟的店，我以前時常去的（但一個月都未必有一次，因為我不是常常到家附近的地方吃飯，除了最近偶然到”太興”吃厚厚的奶醬多之外）．
今天我見不到老闆，只見另一個員工，他一看見我便寒暄了一番，當我的飯盒差不多準備好的時候，那員工問我是否喜歡吃這裡的飯，我回答說是，他便立即又問我不嫁給他，那我不是天天都可以吃這裡的飯??
開玩笑吧?

Admission

Yesterday was an important day of all the Form 5 students. For who have got a good result, they're SO HAPPY. However, for who have got a low marks, they need to look for Form 6 vacancies.

For ME, I needed to check the marks of every student who wanted to apply to our IVE courses offered by my department CAREFULLY. Especially there is a brand new grading system for the language courses: 5*, 5, 4, 3 and 2. At the meanwhile, I needed to check their interview scores if they have been interviewed before.

This is the first time that I am working on the admission. Last two years, I was only responsible for answering questions or introducing my course. The task of this year is extremely energy-demanding. I need to FOCUS!!!! FOCUS!!! and FOCUS!!!! Because I couldn't make any mistake!!!!!

There're lesser students apply to the courses today. The main reason is that they don't meet the minimum entrance requirement. Therefore, they can only wait for the main round of course offering generated by the computer in the next week. Therefore, I felt quite boring in the whole day. My colleague came to our hall and chatted with us. He thought of some stupid but fun gags again, such as 巡冗（四圍巡的冗員），寧食勿語（寧願食都唔好講o野）...

MKS McDull Music Project 2

I went to the performance of Hong Kong Sinfonietta yesterday. The last music piece is one of my favorite!! When I came back home, I searched all around in my apartment and looked for this CD. But, I failed. I thought it might be in my parents' home.
So, I went to my parent's home tonight and looked for this CD again. Of course, I did find it. I wanted to list out which are my favorites.

Shopping in the kid store

I visited my niece this morning again. She was still not familiar with me. We then went to Chinese restaurant altogether this afternoon. This is the 2nd time that our families went to the restaurant. Last time was the first month after my niece was born.
She loved to play with my voodoo devil toy of my mobile phone. The metallic ring which was linking with the toy and the strap was broken. We then went to the kid store to buy some socks for her. My sister-in-law and I were SO EXCITED to check with different latest toys with sound. We tried ALL reachable toys and pressed ALL the buttons with electricities(we were definitely attracted by the toys than my niece was).

My little baby niece again

I have been HURT for a week, because my little niece didn't recognize me. She is almost half year old now. No one realised that she started recognizing people around her; meanwhile, I haven't visited her for about a month(that's my fault for sure..... >_<).

When I visited her last Saturday, she cried!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because she completely had no idea who I was. Then I visited her again on last Sunday and last Wednesday. She still cried when she saw my face(She has recognized my dad(her grandpa), my mom(her grandma), my brother and my sister-in-law(of course, they're her parents)).... She simply don't remember me~~~

Today, I visited her again this evening. She cried. Even I tried to play with her, she still cried.... I fed her milk at around 6:30 pm and she drank(of course, she'd no choice at all).

She tried to "run away" from me after finishing her milk. About 15 minutes later, I played with her again. She was still so alert to me at the begining. But, then after a few more minutes, she smiled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played with her for awhile. She didn't cry any more. Then she went to bed before our dinner.
I really don't know whether she still recalls my face tomorrow or not!!!!!!!! But I will VISIT her again tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't let her to forget me again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's my GOAL!!!!! a stupid goal....

Time off with Wii

I'm taking time-off today. I woke up at 9:30 this morning and started playing Wii. However it seems not able to save data in my SD card. I need to figure it out with my Esther's brother later.

爛gag王

今天我跟坐在附近的同事一起離開，我差一點連命也弄丟了．．． 笑到死．．．
因為其一個不停地講gag，其實也不是太爛，因為真的好笑！！

例如，他講到一些極少有的姓氏，如”病”．這樣的姓氏配怎樣的名字都會做成笑柄，如”病”加上”成錦”二字，便會變到”病成咁”，說了幾個用”病”字開頭的怪名之後，我衝口而出地說了”病態”，接著這位同事立即說”有呀！！！他的太太不就是”病”太嘛？”，簡直是妙問妙答！！！

Transformers 觀後感

臨近放工的時間又跟附近的同事談論Transformers的劇情．第一，當然是劇中的部份爛gag，例如來自芬蘭的Nokia電話，大家不約而同地為自己的健忘劣筋性安上一個合理的藉囗，那就是如果有一天發現電話，在你一覺醒來之後不見了的話，一定是它自己”跑”了!!!　還有會劃出4條花痕必定是X-men的Wolverin，而不是A Nightmare on Elm Street的Freddy．
而且,大家也認為Optimus Prime的描寫不足,相反Bumblebee的性格反而突出有趣,不過我們都認為下一集將會好一點吧（以成本效益來計算，機械人的models已做好，最多只需加添反角，便又可以拍成第二集了）。
還有，其中一幕我跟另一位同事也都十分喜歡（其實滿搞笑），那就是當Bumblebee不滿意Sam他們嫌棄他殘舊的時候，Bumblebee一怒之下趕了Sam跟Mikaela下車，還轉成為一部全新的跑車，那一幕的背景音樂頓時換了一首極cult的出場音樂．我在戲院看到這一塲戲簡直冒出汗來了^_^:: ～～
至於Megatron的滅亡，又是被丟進水裡．．．即使不是水，大部份的”拯救地球的A級片”也離不開是熔岩，如LOR3: Return of the King的魔戒，Alien3中懷孕的Ripley，Terminator2的Terminator又是掉進熔岩，真的點老土．．．

Transformers!!!!

I finally watched "Transformers" in UA Windsor at 10:10 pm. My colleague watched it on the opening night. I was SO EXCITED to watch it!!!! My colleague is also the expert in production and post-production. He appreciated so much the amazing visual effects in this movie.
Most of the theatres were FULL in the last weekend. I couldn't buy the tickets online because there were only some separated seats in the first 3 rows.

FULL moon

I saw a BIG FULL MOON tonight on my way to Sai Kung. The moon is really BIG!!!!!!!!!! I took the top-left photo on the car(which is moving). The top-right one was just a moon, but it looked very small.... because I took this with my 2 mega-pixels camera in my mobile phone.

2nd hand computer Part 4

I finally bought a IDE to SATA plug converter this afternoon. I then plugged it into my 2nd hand computer. However, I am really an idiot. My computer couldn't detect any DVD/CD player, except the hard disk. I tried and tried. The DVD/CD was still missing.

I gave up and went to bed 1.5 hours ago. I received my bf's call and told him what's happened. He taught me how to solve it. Of course, my computer finally detected the DVD/CD player and booted the right installer. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I got up from my bed for installing a window.

Thanks to Johnny too!!!!! He's answering many stupid questions now.

Basically, I have installed most of other drivers and I will install the driver of motherboard tomorrow.
I need to go to bed..... because I am so TIRED!!!
It's almost 3 am... I slept at 3 am yesterday too.... so CRAZY!!!

Netvigator set a trap

Netvigator has set a trap!!!!!!
AND I've been trapped!!!!
I have PAID at least $500 more than I expected!!!

I've just logged into my account in "netvigator.com". I haven't checked the bills after joining this service plan. I was SO BUSY to pay different bills in the past 5 months(start from living on my own). The bill of broadband service is an e-bill too, so I have NEVER checked it. If it's a paper-bill, I will read it as usual.

Until now, I found that I should pay $27X every month. As I remembered, the plan I joined only cost $19X. Then, what's happen?????? I checked each items carefully. I found that I paid for two more services. One was "Media.com.hk" and the other was "MOOV.com.hk". I haven't used these before.

I scanned the e-bill again!!! These two services were free for the first month. Then, I totally realised that I didn't cut the plan(of course, I didn't know/remember that I should do it). However, that's ok. Every companies do the same thing. Then, fine. I'm STUPID!!! I will not argue for it. Of course, I will CUT the services NOW!!!!!!

I could cut "Media.com.hk" immediately and successfully. HOWEVER, I couldn't cut the other one~ The bill indicates that is a 12-month plan. THEN, I totally believed I was treated by NETVIGATOR!!! Then, I have just called to the hotline of Netvigator's Customer Service. They told me that IF I DIDN'T CUT THE SERVICE AFTER THE FIRST MONTH, IT WOULD TURN INTO A 12-MONTH PLAN AUTOMATICALLY!!!!!!! THAT'S SSSSSOOOOO CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
How can it turn into a CONTRACT???!!! I didn't sign any document??? I only signed for the broadband service!!!!!! I have left my contact to them and they'll follow up!!!!

IF they don't call me back by tomorrow, I'll keep complaining and calling them EVERYDAY!!!!

I'm SO ANGRY NOW!!!

MPhil(s) Gathering

Tonight, I met with three other MPhil. students(three are the graduates and one is waiting for Oral Defence). We are from the same course, same department and same university(of course!). However, we are not so-called "classmates", because we studied in MPhil. in different years.

From the last 5 years, only 4 Hongkongeses studied this MPhil. course. The rest of them are mostly come from mainland China and one from France (this French guy is VERY HANDSOME. I haven't met him before. My friends said he's teaching French in the University. Some of my friends took his courses when they were studying Undergraduate)

Tonight is the first time that we gather together. As I have mentioned that we studied in different timing, we hardly met each other in the University(We supposed to be sitting in the same room). Tonight is a WONDERFUL time to chat with them and share our experiences.
Studying MPhil. is my toughest time in my life. It's MUCH HARDER than preparing the HKCEE or HKAL.
During tonight's chatting, we simply have several common experiences during our studies:

1. We ALL thought of QUITTING our studies in certain circumstances,
2. We ALL studied in a lonely environment, because we didn't have any classmates that we could ask if we'd any questions,
3. We had GREAT difficulties while reading the prior researches, BUT WE STILL NEED TO. We ALL understood each single word written in the paper, but we had NO IDEA what it was really about,
   
4. We ALL temporarily don't consider to have FURTHER study,
5. We ALL agree one professor(actually, he's my favorite professor) would not be considered as a supervisor ANY MORE,
6. We ALL felt depressing in some situations.
   

These HARD feelings are really DIFFICULT to be shared. No one would understand how hard the MPhil is (of course, if a student pickes an easy topic, it'll be easy!!). We are so ambitious that choosing a challenging topic. In my case, I was studying media in Undergraduate degree and I stopped learning computer from Secondary 3. HOWEVER, I tried to program a renderer in my MPhil degree. It's SO IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!

There is a great diversity of careers among our classmates too. Two becomes pop stars. Some work in publishing companies. Some work in magazine publishers. Some are directors, editors, 3D animators, etc. My job nature is so-called "teaching", but I'm still teaching animation. Therefore, I'm still working on "production-related" in my profession.

Finally, we talked about recent situation of our professors/lecturers. Half or one-third of them left within these 5 years.
I have just added the link of Karen's blog in "友blog". She taught in City University of Hong Kong. She taught an elective course and I helped her to prepare the notes(of course, I was just an assistant ^_^). She recently published a book, called "Pre-animate! A Guidebook for Independent Animators". I will buy it asap!!!!

2nd hand computer Part 3

Finally I knew what's happen to my POOR computer. It's because the crashes of hardware with incorrect drivers. The only solution is to re-install the Operating System to my hard disk. Actually, I need to re-install my OS long long time ago. Since I have deleted some significant drivers/software, it crashed with my Office and IE.

I have bought a new SATA hard disk during the lunch break in Kwun Tong. My colleagu showed me how to plug a power cables too. However, I failed. I didn't find the same cable in this 2nd hand computer. I only saw one small one and it should have one which is bigger.... I need to ask my colleague tomorrow.... in case I fail to explain, I have taken a photo already which I can show to him tomorrow.

2nd hand computer Part 2

我絕對是一個電腦白癡，雖然我的工作是教學生用softwares，但我一向拿hardwares沒輒，雜亂的cables更令我頭痛！！

我的新二手電腦換上了原來的Hard Disk後，不能正常進入Windows，無論怎樣試也是會不停restart，restart，和restart，很快地閃下WindowXP版面之 後，再閃一下藍畫面，又會自動boot機。根本連藍畫面上寫著甚麼也看不見，既然完全摸不著頭腦，只好跑上睡覺去，待睡醒後找人救我！

My bf has helped me to transfer my 2 original HDDs to the 2nd hand computer. HOWEVER, the computer cannot boot correctly. It kept restarting when the WindowXP appeared for ONE second.

I HAVE NO IDEA what's going on. Now, I wait for my saviour to rescue my LOVELY computer and my HANDSOME 24-inch monitor!!!! Johnny!!!!!!! HELP ME & SAVE ME!!!

2nd hand 24-inch Dell Full HD LCD monitor

I have finally got my 2nd hand 24-inch Dell Full HD LCD monitor. It's HUGE and HEAVY!!!!!!!! but it's still lighter than my SONY 19-inch CRT monitor. Actually, my "old" monitor is still functioning well, because it cost HK$7000 7 years ago. But, this full HD LCD monitor is SO ATTRACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fish Rafts

Today, I went to a fish raft in Sai Kung. This is the first time that I swam and BBQ in fish raft. The raft is made of wood column and dark green sailclothes. Over 55 people were on this raft. It's a joyful party although I didn't meet MOST MOST of the people there.

There were totally 7 dogs on the rafts too. One white dog was really fond of me. Everytime, I squated down, the dog must climbed to my knee and KISSED on my lips several times!!!! But I didn't take picture with this dog....
It's quite impossible to take his picture.... because he must approach me when I squated down........

I hurt my lower leg!!!!!!!! However, I completely have NO IDEA when and what hurt my leg.... I felt pain and saw the wound. At the beginning, I saw the wound is just a about 7 cm long scratch... HOWEVER, when I checked it out one more time when I was home, it was actually 7cm x 3cm wound with many many scratches. It's really DISGUSTING!!!!!!!! and PAIN too................. >_<

It was a STARRY NIGHT today. I have seen more than 50 stars in the sky. I haven't seen that much for over 10 years, because I haven't been in countryside for long long time. When I was in Secondary 5, I also saw a BIG, BRIGHT MOON and STARssss in the camp site.

Wii - Resident Evil 4

I went to Wan Chai Computer City after lunch today. My colleague told me that Bio Hazard for wii has been released for awhile. Then I went to check that out, of course, he's right!!! it's OUT!!!!!!! Look at THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The player can buy a gun peripheral or a light gun adaptor for this game!!
